The above images were all I had to work with (including the DVD - very limited views of this costume) when making this costume. Thanks to skarlettfever who was able to take such great shots at the FIDM exhibit, I was able to see a lot more detail than can be seen in the movie. Unfortunately further images have surfaced since then from other exhibits that show more details I was unaware of - the sleeves could have been so much easier to construct had I known there was a seam along the top of them. Still, I am very proud of the work I did on the headdress - I could not get the shape to stay up as high as I would have liked to be closer to the movie one, but the weight of the crystal bead fringe kept bringing down the frame. I've never made a hat before so I think I did a pretty good job considering I used clothes hangers for the base frame. I was also unable to afford (or find) a good match for the silk matelasse for the gown. I used this metallic embroidered one instead, which I felt kept the theme with the swirling designs.
