Et voilà. She is done!

The hairpiece was a real b-i-t-c-q, as my grama used to say! Plus I couldn't get it to flare out at the back no matter what I tried. I tried wire mesh on a frame, which was such a joke trying to get it to work. I ended up using a hat cone frame. The braids took forEVER to sew onto the thing: 14 hours (including doing the fabric piece that goes around the base). So I will not be re-doing this thing, ever. This is good enough!

Finished the skirt. Now it needs a crinoline underneath it to poof it out a bit at the bottom.

Here is the skirt as of last weekend. I've since finished all the satin stitching on the shapes.

Okay, took more pics in a different, non-green room under fluorescent lighting - and got more what the colour actually looks like.

Amazing that now I look at the screen caps vs. my fabrics, how blue the cartoon looks, and how purple mine looks. Blech. I'm sure it was purpler on my TV!

I need to redo the closure to line up the darts.

The sleeves are quite heavy - due to the heavy dark fabric, plus 2 more layers for the edges, which also includes satin stitches.
