Satine's Hindi Rehearsal costume - or, 'how to kill yourself making a beaded headdress and 200 fabric covered buttons in 8 easy steps"
Okay so it's only about 70 buttons, but still

Jacket progress today:

July 27,
2005

The original bridal headpiece as I bought it (they were $10 each and tax), then painting in progress

Here's my $212 head - looks so classy with the Hello Kitty shirt eh?

Wig - $65
Indian jewelry - $57
Headpieces - $20
Gold leafing pen, acrylic black paint - $15
Earrings - $30
Tortoiseshell comb (not seen here) - $25
Looking reasonably enough like Satine - priceless....

Bought 100% dupioni silk for main gown, and some appliqué's and trim. I think I'll have to dye the appliqués black, since the backing fabric they are sewn into is such a bright yellow.
